A Very Warm Welcome To
The name ‘Cambrian’ refers to one of the oldest bedrocks spanning the globe, formed during the influential geologic Cambrian era. Its most notable features perfectly align with our Trust’s ethos and approach.
Aligned with these attributes, our strapline ‘Nurturing Growth – Inspiring Minds’ perfectly encapsulates what the Cambrian Learning Trust stands for. We are driven to nurture all learners - the children and young people in our care, our staff, and the adults in our school communities so that they can achieve their very best, whilst providing inspiration, motivation and challenge.

Celebrating Young Sporting Talent at cambrian Sports Awards
Pupils from across the Faringdon schools within Cambrian Learning Trust were celebrated last night at the first Sports Awards, held at Faringdon Community College.
Pupils from across the Faringdon schools within the Trust were celebrated last night at the first Sports Awards, held at Faringdon Community College. The awards marked the first dedicated sports awards event for primary-aged pupils in Faringdon and surrounding area, recognising the outstanding talent, determination and commitment shown by students across the Trust's schools. Created to celebrate the vital role sport and physical education play in young people's development, the evening showcased pupils who have demonstrated exceptional effort, resilience and achievement both in competition and in their wider contribution to school sport. Schools nominated pupils across a range of categories spanning dance, cricket, football and inspiring leadership, with the evening culminating in the presentation of the prestigious Sports Boy and Sports Girl awards, chosen from nominees across all participating schools. The event was organised by Enrichment Lead Paul Chadwick. He said: "We are so proud of the work our schools do in supporting children in sport and PE. Events like these highlight the strong position our schools put our students in as they move to secondary school. "The event was a great evening that recognised quality, perseverance, effort and dedication to PE and sport and the students came away with not just a medal but an overwhelming sense of pride and achievement." The evening also featured an inspirational address from former Olympic fencer James Beevers, who shared his experiences of elite sport and spoke to pupils about the Olympic values that have guided him since the age of seven. His message of perseverance, excellence and personal growth resonated strongly with the audience and reinforced the values that underpin sport across Cambrian Learning Trust schools. The Cambrian Sports Awards reflect the Trust's commitment to nurturing growth and inspiring minds by providing opportunities that enable every young person to discover their strengths, develop their talents and achieve success both inside and outside the classroom.
John Blandy Achieves Smile Silver Accreditation
John Blandy Primary School has achieved the Smile Silver Accreditation for Oral Health, recognising the school's commitment to promoting good dental hygiene and healthy habits among its pupils.
@John Blandy Primary School has achieved the Smile Silver Accreditation for Oral Health, recognising the school's commitment to promoting good dental hygiene and healthy habits among its pupils. The accreditation reflects the work undertaken across the school to raise awareness of oral health and encourage positive habits that support children's overall wellbeing. Over recent months, oral health education has been incorporated into lessons, helping pupils understand the importance of effective toothbrushing, healthy eating and regular dental visits. The school also welcomed a member of the oral health team, who visited pupils and promoted oral health through an engaging story and puppet session. Alongside this, the school has actively promoted water as the drink of choice and reinforced the importance of balanced diets for healthy teeth. Information has been shared with parents and carers about reducing sugary snacks, while healthy snack and lunch choices have been encouraged throughout the school day. Families have also been supported with resources and guidance to help establish positive oral health routines at home, including advice on toothbrushing and healthier food choices. Headteacher Suzanne Elliott said: "We are incredibly proud to have achieved the Smile Silver Accreditation for Oral Health. This award reflects the enthusiasm of our pupils, the dedication of our staff and the support of our families. Developing healthy habits from an early age is an important part of children's wellbeing, and we are pleased that our whole-school approach to oral health has been recognised." The school would like to thank pupils, staff and families for their support in achieving this award and looks forward to continuing its work to promote healthy lifestyles and positive wellbeing across the school community.
Congratulations!
We are pleased to share a short infographic video designed to support Year 6 pupils as they prepare for the exciting transition to secondary school. Created for parents and carers to go through with their children over the summer holidays, it offers simple, practical tips to help build confidence, ease worries and encourage positive conversations about the move ahead. We hope it provides a helpful starting point for talking about this next important step and helps pupils feel ready and reassured for September.
