We are deeply committed to developing excellence in our schools, which is driven through our commitment to developing all staff. The Centre of Professional Excellence is the umbrella term used to capture all elements of CPD, which can be as small as reading a piece of research or having a discussion with a colleague, to a sustained activity such as taking part in a qualification such as an NPQ.
The Centre of Professional Excellence is a hub comprising links to people or places, resources and reading, collaboration and networking. It is open to all employees within the Cambrian Learning Trust, creating pathways for career progression and ensuring our children receive the very best quality of education.
We are a diverse workforce; we offer excellent career progression, equality of opportunity and continued professional development to those who seek to join us, regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or physical need. All employees have access to the Cambrian Centre for Professional Excellence.
Newly qualified teachers benefit from the excellent Early Career Framework training delivered by OTSA (Oxfordshire Teaching Schools Association) and form part of an active and collaborative ECT network group who meet 6 times a year. This offers our ECTs the opportunity to visit a range of schools within our Trust, work together with peers, and receive high-quality training from Trust leaders in areas such as SEND,
Our bespoke Leadership Development Programme provides aspiring leaders with opportunities to develop their understanding of leadership and work more collaboratively across Trust schools to support their route to senior leadership.
For those with a passion and talent in a specific area of learning, there are opportunities to specialise and share expertise by becoming a Trust Leading Teacher. In addition, there are opportunities to take part in wider training and development, such as National College of Education training and National Professional Qualifications.
Apprenticeships - The Cambrian Learning Trust is committed to developing Apprenticeships. We use the apprenticeship levy not just for new employees, but also to help current colleagues access exciting, relevant Continuing Professional Development opportunities.
Our close proximity as a group of schools means that working in partnership is thoroughly embedded. As well as many informal collaborations that arise naturally, we have a programme of school improvement activities which we undertake together through engagement in Forums and Network groups. Heads meet regularly to discuss strategy and direction of the trust; a wide range of forums meet several times a year to support each other and develop best practice; subject leads and senior leaders support deep dives and school reviews; all teachers meet for shared moderation such as writing.
Cambrian Learning Trust is an exempt charity and a company limited by guarantee, registered in England with Company Number 7977368.
