Thameside Primary School Achieves Bronze MyHappyMind Accreditation

The accreditation reflects Thameside’s dedication to its motto, ‘Every Child, Every Chance, Every Day’, ensuring that every pupil is supported to thrive both academically and emotionally. The MyHappyMind programme has become an integral part of school life at Thameside, helping children develop resilience, confidence and self-awareness, key foundations for lifelong success.

This accreditation was led by Interim Assistant Headteacher Hannah Russell, whose leadership has ensured the programme is fully embedded across the school and accessible to families as well as pupils.

The staff are committed to ensuring children are confident and independent, have a love of learning and care about themselves, others and the world around them. The school’s vision, to nurture life-long learners who are aspirational, courageous, creative and kind, is brought to life through initiatives such as MyHappyMind, which equip pupils with practical tools to support their mental health and personal development.

Headteacher Laura Youngman said:

MyHappyMind is embedded in our daily practice, equipping pupils with lifelong skills that support their mental health and help them thrive both in school and beyond. The programme has also provided families with valuable tools to continue this support at home. We are delighted to celebrate this achievement and the positive impact it continues to have across our whole school community.”

The award recognises the impact the programme has had not only in classrooms, but across the wider Thameside community. Families are encouraged to explore MyHappyMind via the school's parent app and resources, with staff available to provide further information during this week’s Parents’ Evenings.

This accreditation marks an important milestone in Thameside’s continued commitment to ensuring every child has the opportunity to flourish every day.
