The accreditation reflects the work undertaken across the school to raise awareness of oral health and encourage positive habits that support children's overall wellbeing. Over recent months, oral health education has been incorporated into lessons, helping pupils understand the importance of effective toothbrushing, healthy eating and regular dental visits. The school also welcomed a member of the oral health team, who visited pupils and promoted oral health through an engaging story and puppet session.

Alongside this, the school has actively promoted water as the drink of choice and reinforced the importance of balanced diets for healthy teeth. Information has been shared with parents and carers about reducing sugary snacks, while healthy snack and lunch choices have been encouraged throughout the school day.

Families have also been supported with resources and guidance to help establish positive oral health routines at home, including advice on toothbrushing and healthier food choices.

This award reflects the enthusiasm of our pupils, the dedication of our staff and the support of our families. Developing healthy habits from an early age is an important part of children's wellbeing, and we are pleased that our whole-school approach to oral health has been recognised."
