Outstanding Talent Shines at Cambrian Learning Trust Performing Arts Festival

On Wednesday 22nd April, King Alfred's Academy hosted the first Wantage and Abingdon Performing Arts Festival celebrating talent from across Cambrian Learning Trust schools.

Family members and staff enjoyed a vibrant programme of eight performances from seven schools, featuring an exciting mix of live music, soloists, singers, dancers and a choir.

The range of acts showcased the wealth of talent the Trust has to offer and the sense of enjoyment, bravery and accomplishment every performer showed was remarkable to watch. The time and dedication of both the staff and pupils on the lead up to the event to put out the performances they did shone through.

Paul Chadwick, Trust Enrichment Lead said:

The Performing Arts Festival is one of the key events in our calendar every year. Now as Cambrian, it has been brilliant to bring the event to Wantage and Abingdon for the first time. As a Trust, we want to celebrate all the performing arts and by hosting this event we are highlighting the importance of the arts within our Trust. The event was incredible and it shows how much talent we have in our schools – we have seen some future stars perform on stage!”

Joe Moore, one of the lead organisers for the event said:

“Thank you so much to everyone who came to this first Performing Arts Festival. The effort, talent, variety and quality on display was amazing. The children should be so proud and what a confidence boost for them all!.”

Richard Evans, CEO, Cambrian Learning Trust said:

"Events like our Performing Arts Festival truly capture the spirit of Cambrian Learning Trust. We are committed to ensuring every young person has the opportunity to discover and develop their talents, build confidence, and feel a strong sense of belonging".
