Kim has worked in Education for over 35 years . Initially as teacher, moving into leadership in four secondary schools across two Local Authorities and subsequently 16 years in Senior Leadership posts  in three Local Authorities. Most recently she has held responsibility for strategic leadership of school improvement, school governance, early years, virtual school, attendance, service pupils and traded services. Kim’s leadership work has spanned across Primary, Secondary, Special schools; in all roles she has had significant impact on pupil outcomes.

Currently Kim is working part-time as an Education Consultant alongside being a Governor and a Trustee in a range of schools. 

In the 2023 New Year's Honours Kim was awarded an MBE for ‘Services to Education’.
