Ex-Officio appointment

Richard is an experienced school leader. He has been the Headteacher of two very successful primary schools in Surrey, the latter being a new build following the amalgamation of an Infant and Junior school. Richard moved on to lead the School Improvement Team for Surrey County Council supporting 316 primary schools. Over the last 12 years, Richard has worked in Multi Academy Trusts.  He was Director of Education for a large National Trust, then became CEO for three different Trusts. More recently, Richard held the post of joint CEO of Vale Academy Trust and Faringdon Learning Trust that later merged to become Cambrian Learning Trust.

Additionally, Richard has been a Governor for over 15 years, holding the post of Chair of Governors for both a primary and a secondary school. He has trained as an Ofsted Inspector as well as taking on the role of NLE (National Leader in Education) providing external support to schools.
